Harm Reduction
Harm reduction is a set of principles and practices designed to reduce the negative health impacts of drug use. From addiction recovery to syringe exchange, harm reduction meets users where they are at to help them stay alive until they decide to quit using. Beginning in 2016, “drug checking” has taken on central importance within harm reduction. Contaminated drug markets have driven an overdose epidemic that now results over 120,000 fatalities per year in the US alone. WHPM is on the forefront of harm reduction by adapting and redeveloping immunoassay technology for use in drug checking.
Developed specifically for harm reduction use, WHPM’s fentanyl test strips have both high sensitivity and high selectivity, allowing them to detect even tiny amounts of fentanyl in drug samples without cross-reacting with non-fentanyl related substances.
Xylazine is a veterinary tranquilizer increasingly found in illicit opioids that poses serious health risks if inadvertently ingested by humans, including an increased risk of overdose. WHPM’s xylazine test strips can reliably detect even small amounts of xylazine in drug samples.
Micro Scoops
Drug checking requires careful measurement of the substance sample, yet many users do not have access to a milligram scale. Calibrated to accurately measure 10-15 milligrams, our reusable micro scoops provide a simple alternative. Perfect for any harm reduction toolkit.
Clear Caps
Proper dilution is an important part of sample preparation when testing any substance. Our 10 ml Clear Caps make liquid measurement easy. Durable and reusable with clear gradations, they are the perfect component for any harm reduction toolkit.
